British designer Giles Deacon has been named creative designer at the flailing-but-storied fashion house Emanuel Ungaro, the Paris-based label said in a statement Tuesday.
The announcement came in the wake of a wave of defections from the house, including the departures of its former CEO, Mounir Moufarrige, the designers for both the women’s and men’s labels and its short-lived artistic adviser, Lindsay Lohan.
With the appointment, Deacon becomes the latest in a series of designers to attempt to right Ungaro, which has been bleeding money since the 2004 retirement of its founder and namesake.

The invite read “Luli wants to party” and party is just what the audience did while watching the models strut down the catwalk to the beat of pounding drums at the Luli Fama 2010 Collection fashion show. An explosion of colors punctuated the fabulous fiesta with prints and patterns accompanied by ruffles, rings and strings to make buyers dig deep.
