Organisers of the 2012 Olympics are hoping to book the Spice Girls for the opening ceremony and four members of the record-breaking girl group are keen to reunite for the event. According to the News of the World, Victoria is not interested in joining them, despite husband David encouraging her to do it.

Victoria has shaken off her Posh Spice nickname to become an established figure in the fashion world and has apparently told the other girls she has no future in music. A source close to the Beckhams explained she fears a comeback on a global stage would open her up to more criticism about her singing.

There is no way Victoria will perform with the Spice Girls ever again. She's not a spoilsport but she doesn't feel she's a good enough performer to go back there again all these years on,' they explained. Victoria is said to have told Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel C she would not be offended if they brought in a replacement for the event, but it is not clear whether Olympic organisers would book the Spice Girls without her. David, who played an important role in London securing the Olympic Games, does look set to be involved in 2012, either as an over-age player for or coach of the Great Britain football team.
