PRINCESS Beatrice steals the show at a pre-wedding dinner that was held for royals from across Europe and the Middle East. The daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York looked stunning in a white and silver sheath dress covered with sequins and tulle fishtail by Australian designer Rachel Gilbert as she arrived at the Queen's gala dinner last night.
She was with her sister, Eugenie, who turned up at the event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge in a dress thought to be designed by Vivienne Westwood, reports the Daily Mail.
Their father, the Duke of York, attended along with his sister, Princess Anne, and brother, the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall missed the dinner but attended a drinks reception beforehand.Royal guests arrived through the five-star hotel's back entrance, overlooking Hyde Park and hundreds of eager waiting fans.
After hearing the news that her dress - out of the many sent to the princess - made the cut, Gilbert said: “Words can’t describe how thrilled I am that Princess Beatrice chose to wear one of my dresses that we had gifted her to such a monumental event in history.
"As a designer to be involved in such an event has far surpassed my wildest dreams and I’m extremely humbled. I’m still pinching myself in disbelief that a Princess wore one of my designs, it’s just something money can’t buy”.
