The Inescapable singer has joined with label KuKu to create dresses she says accentuates the kind of healthy girl she is - one with hips, curves and a bust who loves the right kind of outfit to highlight them.
"They're party dresses and I like to think they're sexy and cute," she said before presenting the range to fans in Pitt St Mall and treating them to a performance of some of her tracks. "But I'm not a designer at all! I love creating music but in a way I used the same techniques to create ideas for the dresses with colours and styles and how they fit together.
"I came in with nine dress ideas but we had to cut the list down to five and they're each named after one of my songs."The capsule dresses are made of light, easy-to-wear materials and are brightly coloured in citrus yellows, purples, oranges and more. In addition to music, 22-year-old Mauboy will play a lead role in a film, The Sapphires, due to be screened in 2012.
